Myanmar Coup Tracker

Advocacy towards the EU and national authorities needs a solid continous back-up in facts on both events and agendas regarding the ongoing coup d’état.

> In close collaboration with Central European Institute of Asian Studies we run the Myanmar Coup Tracker (MCT).

MCT is committed to chronicling the key events that followed the military’s attempt to wrest power from the civilian government on 1 February 2021. The platform offers daily entries covering the first two years after the coup, with a focus on internal politics (POL), economic issues (ECN), the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM), international responses (INT), incidents of violence (VIO), and freedom of expression/media (EXM). In addition to the tracker, the Analyses section features pertinent articles and webinars from our collaborators, providing ongoing insights into the post-coup situation, extending beyond the initial two-year period.
