Supporting Maynmar Civil Society and Independent Journalists

During the ongoing coup d’état in Myanmar, civil society — both within the country and in exile —requires substantial support to build capacity and resilience against the junta’s oppressive warfare. Beyond humanitarian aid, the people need the skills to counter the junta’s hybrid information attacks, debunk disinformation and propaganda, and conduct their own information and media campaigns.

> In close collaboration with local activist groups, we offer courses in open-source intelligence, media communication, and data journalism tailored for participants from Myanmar. These courses are delivered both online and on-site.

Our position within the European Union provides us with a unique advantage in organising advocacy meetings for defenders of human rights, freedom of speech, and the rule of law, as well as for civic leaders and decision-makers from Myanmar, with European authorities and political representatives.

> We facilitate advocacy meetings, internships, negotiations, and information campaigns. Additionally, we have supported Czech advocacy efforts for a democratic Myanmar, briefed Members of the European Parliament on the situation in Myanmar, and highlighted the influence of Russia in the region.

Myanmar is not very well known in the EU, thus we understand the need to raise pulbic awareness about the events of the coup d’état.

> We run Myanmar Coup Tracker, an unique info-portal dedicated solely to tracing of the post-coup events in the Republic.

> We prepare episodes on Myanmar events and context of country development for our Pacifica podcast.
